Terms of Service
Last updated: 2025-01-01
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the KarmaCaptain website and the Reddit marketing services we provide. KarmaCaptain ("KarmaCaptain", "we", "us", or "our") is operated from the United States. By visiting our website or signing an engagement with us, you ("Client", "you") agree to these Terms.
1. What we do
KarmaCaptain is an organic Reddit marketing agency. We help established businesses get recommended in Reddit threads where their customers are making purchase decisions. Our services typically include:
- Researching purchase-intent threads and subreddits relevant to your category;
- Operating a branded Reddit account on your behalf;
- Writing and posting authentic comments and original posts on Reddit;
- Reporting on placements, traffic, and outcomes attributable to Reddit.
We do not sell or run paid Reddit advertising. Our work is organic.
2. Account ownership
We believe ownership should be unambiguous. Here is exactly how it works:
- Your branded account is yours. Any Reddit account that uses your brand name, your company name, or any handle you direct us to create on your behalf is owned by you, the Client. We operate it during the engagement. When the engagement ends, we transfer the username and email-of-record to you and we no longer access it.
- Our aged accounts are ours. The non-branded, aged Reddit accounts we use to place comments and posts on your behalf are KarmaCaptain assets. They are built up over months or years across many subreddits and they remain with us when the engagement ends. They are never sold, traded, or transferred.
3. The "we don't delete your work" guarantee
Comments and posts we publish on your behalf are intentionally written to be authentic, helpful, and durable. They become long-term assets that continue to drive traffic and recommendations to your business for months or years.
If you cancel your engagement with us, we will not delete or remove the comments, posts, or content we have already published referencing or recommending your business. They stay live. We may continue to operate the underlying Reddit accounts after cancellation, but the work product placed on your behalf during your engagement remains in place. The only exceptions are: (a) Reddit moderators or admins removing content per their own platform rules; (b) you explicitly requesting in writing that specific content be deleted; or (c) a legal order requiring removal.
4. Engagement, fees, and payment
The specific scope, deliverables, term, and fees of your engagement are set out in your signed proposal or order form. The order form, together with these Terms, forms the agreement between us.
- Fees are billed monthly in advance unless your order form says otherwise.
- Invoices are due on receipt and considered late after 7 days.
- If your account is more than 30 days past due, we may pause work until paid.
5. Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel at the end of any billing period by giving us at least 30 days written notice (email is fine). Fees already paid for the current billing period are non-refundable, but we will continue to deliver work through the end of that period.
If you cancel, the "we don't delete your work" guarantee in Section 3 applies to all content we published during your engagement.
6. Your responsibilities
For the engagement to work, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information about your business, product, and customers;
- Respond to placement approvals within a reasonable time so we can keep momentum;
- Disclose any current or prior Reddit activity, bans, or sensitive issues that could affect placements;
- Not ask us to write reviews, claims, or comparisons that are false, deceptive, or violate Reddit's content policies or applicable consumer-protection laws.
7. Acceptable use of our website
You agree not to:
- Use our website for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms;
- Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or compromise the security of our website;
- Reverse engineer, scrape, or copy substantial portions of the site for commercial use;
- Submit false or misleading information through our forms.
8. Intellectual property
The content and design of the KarmaCaptain website, our methodology, our internal playbooks, and our aged accounts are our property. The content we write and publish on your branded Reddit account during your engagement is licensed to you for your use, and it is yours to keep after the engagement ends per Section 2 and Section 3.
9. Confidentiality
Each side will keep the other's confidential business information confidential, both during and after the engagement, and only use it for the purpose of working together. We will not publicly identify you as a client without your consent. Aggregated, anonymized results may be shared in case studies and marketing materials with no client identifying information unless you approve it.
10. Disclaimers and "results may vary"
Results may vary, and we do not guarantee any specific outcomes. The case studies, metrics, testimonials, and examples shown on our website and in our sales materials reflect what particular clients have experienced — they are not promises, projections, or guarantees of what your business will experience. Outcomes depend on factors outside our control, including your category, product, audience, pricing, competitive landscape, and the policies and algorithms of independent third-party platforms (Reddit, Google, AI-search engines, etc.) which can change at any time.
We will not guarantee specific search rankings, traffic volumes, lead counts, sales numbers, revenue outcomes, ROAS, ROI, or any other performance metric. The website and our services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind beyond what is expressly stated in your order form.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither side will be liable to the other for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, lost profits, or lost data. Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or related to these Terms or your engagement will not exceed the fees you paid us in the 3 months immediately preceding the claim.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any third-party claim arising out of (a) inaccurate or misleading information you gave us about your business or product, (b) your violation of these Terms, or (c) any claim that content placed at your direction infringes a third party's rights. We agree to indemnify you against any third-party claim that our publicly available website materials infringe that party's intellectual property rights.
13. Termination
Either side may terminate the engagement for material breach if the other side hasn't cured it within 15 days of written notice. We may suspend services for non-payment under Section 4. Sections 2, 3, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, and 14 survive termination.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and both sides consent to that jurisdiction. Each side waives any right to a jury trial and any right to participate in a class action.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where reasonable, notify active clients by email. Your continued use of our website or services after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
